Chocolate caramel slice is one of my many weak points, it just calls to me, this version is filled with nourishing ingredients and it tastes just as good (if not better) than the original version. I’ve stuck to common pantry ingredients, so it’s hassle free and economical to make to boot. I hope you love it just as much as I do!
Ingredients
1 C Almond flour
1 TBSPN maple syrup
4 TBSPN coconut oil (divided)
¾ C pitted dates
2 TBSPN smooth peanut butter
Pinch sea salt
1-2 TBSPN almond milk
100 grams dark chocolate
Method
Soak dates in hot water 10 minutes.
- Base
Put almond flour, maple syrup, 3 tbspn coconut oil tin food processor. Blend till dough forms. Press into lined loaf tin. Transfer to fridge to set.
- Caramel centre
Put soaked dates, peanut butter and almond milk (as needed) into food processor. Blend to a smooth consistency. Spoon and smooth onto base almond layer. Place back in fridge to set.
- Chocolate top
Melt chocolate and 1 tbspn coconut oil in microwave in 30 sec bursts (stirring between each burst). Once melted pour over caramel layer. Place in freezer to set.
Slice and enjoy the deliciousness.
